Useless

Explanations are way too fast to be of any use at all. You can watch and listen 5 times and still miss what the guy is saying and doing at the same time. And mostly only explained for Windows... And Novation Launchkey is made for Ableton, so why is most of the course about ProTools, Cubase, LogicPro and you name it?

I am a: Beginner, Hobbyist, Musician, Producer, Ableton Live

Response from Customer Service:

Hello and thank you for leaving a review. We truly appreciate it.
I am very sorry you did not like this intro jumpstart into Launchkey. For some who English is not their first language, they find if they use the shift and left right arrow keys to slow the audio down, they can understand the authors better.
And although these lessons can be applied across all OS platforms and DAW's, I understand wanting to see it in your personal setup. I have passed your comments along to our team and put in a request for a more advanced version of this tutorial for more detailed training.

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

I started dabbling in music when I was around six. I distinctly remember a car ride where my Mom asked me if I wanted to learn to play the piano like my Dad. It sounds cliche, but I said “sure,” and the rest was history.

2. What training have you had?

I’ve been a keyboard player for over twenty years now, which saying that makes me feel old. I went on to get my bachelors degree in Music ed, and after that, I received consistent and valuable o

3. When did you get into recording?

I got in to recording when I was in middle school. I started dabbling with Virtual Instruments on my first generation iMac when a lot of the popular VI developers were still in their infancy. It’s hard to afford pro audio equipment by just mowing the lawn!

4. People you have worked with/for?

I had the pleasure of working a job where I provided pro audio remote help and consultation for people hundreds of times over. I helped a handful of notable during my tenure there, from live musicians, to studio guys, to voice over artists. It was actually pretty cool to be a resource for the people you grew up admiring, if even for one conversation.

5. Why are you so good at training people?

I think I’m good at training people because every part of my professional development has involved teaching. My formal degree is in Music ED, and I taught middle school and high school for a few years before deciding to move on. After that, I started working in pro audio tech support which certainly had a lot of parallels to the education field. I suppose everything I’ve done in my career has been a continual refinement of my teaching skills.
