All hail the mighty MASCHINE 2! Studio professional Jeremy Harding is back with an in-depth look at this wondrous hardware and software studio tool, showing you the important basics, advanced features and functions, and cool tips and tricks! If you want to learn MASCHINE 2 software or Studio hardware, this is a must see.

Jeremy begins your tour of MASCHINE 2 with an introduction laying out what you'll learn in the series, and then important first steps like setting your preferences, GUI overviews and Browser basics. Next, Jeremy focuses on the MASCHINE Studio hardware, showing you how to accomplish the things you just learnt, using the hardware only.

Importing sounds is next and Jeremy shows you how to import WAV files, REX files and even MPC drum kits into MASCHINE for an endless sonic palette. Editing is now revealed, and Jeremy shows you how to go deep, fine tuning your parts to perfection. Tips & Tricks are then shown, such as how to setup Parallel Compression and classic Sidechain Compression to make your music pump and move with the tempo.

The MASCHINE starts to get hot when Jeremy shows you advanced topics like using Automation and Macro Controls, the built in Drum Synth plug-in, the Sampler, Multi-Out Instruments, Step Recording, 3rd Party Plug-ins & Effects and much more.

Jeremy ends your journey with videos on how to setup and use MASCHINE 2 inside Logic Pro X, Presonus Studio One, Ableton Live, Cubase and Pro Tools. The final video in the series shows you step by step how to export your entire mix for the web or mastering, Group Export for Stem Mixing, and Individual Sound Export so you can bring all the different tracks into another DAW for further mixing and production!

But that's not all! Studio wiz Scottie Dugan appears with 4 awesome vids on the new 2.1 update features and functions, covering new Basic Workflows, the Drum Synth, Moving MIDI, Sampling Workflows and more!

Learn all about the new Komplete Select Acoustic Instruments, Synths, and Drum Modules added in the 2.3 Update. Scottie walks you through the new Drumsynth features, the overhaul of the Reverb effect, along with the new Distortion, Cabinet, and Limiter processors. Discover the new workflow improvements in this important update too!

MASCHINE 2.4.6 adds a few tasty new features, and Scottie covers them in these update videos. Now Maschine users can slice samples on the fly with the new Manual Slicing mode. And that’s not all, there are additional workflow changes such as scene length no longer being tied to pattern length. This means the scenes and loop length can freely move however you want. There are some other really nice improvements scattered through the software, which you'll learn about here!

If you're new to MASCHINE 2 software or the MASCHINE Studio hardware, this series is for you. You'll get up and running and have a deep understanding of its workflow and be able to create awesome beats and grooves in no time... Watch "MASCHINE 2 Explained" today.

i could of saw this for free

I've been looking all over the net on how to use my maschine studio with logic x as a midi controller without having to use NI software, but I couldn't really find anything on how to that.

i'm used to using logic x ,i don't want to use maschine's software just the hardware

I am a: Semi-Pro, Professional, Musician, Producer, Beat Maker, Audio Engineer, Mastering Facility, Logic Pro

Response from Customer Service:

Hello,
I am very sorry you didn't like the tutorial. This tutorial puts the focus on the software so for someone looking for a hardware only instructional on Maschine, I'm afraid this will certainly fall short. It's perfect for those looking to learn the software side of things however. Check out our other Maschine tutorials like the Know How series or First Song in Maschine for instruction that covers the hardware in more detail.

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

I started in Music at the age of 10, attending a conservatory and studying 5 years of guitar, voice and music theory. After graduating high school and attending college, my focus shifted to deejaying in nightclubs and hosting my own college radio show for 4 years. During this time I also learnt how to use drum machines, synthesizers, music software and other MIDI equipment, which led to producing local singers and rappers. Eventually I began debuting my productions on my radio show and also deejayed for my acts live on stage at nightclubs and concert venues.

2. What training have you had?

5 years of conservatory training, achieving a Royal Schools of Music London certificate in Music Theory. And then 2 years of Recorded Music Production and Engineering (Diploma course) at Trebas Institute , Montreal, Quebec.

3. When did you get into recording?

Aside from making 4 track bedroom demos for my radio show, my first serious venture into recording was in 1993, starting with radio and TV advertising jobs, doing 15 and 30 second spots, working with vocal talent and doing my own voiceovers. Soon afterwards I began producing commercial Reggae/Pop/RnB records for labels such as Island Records, as well as my own independent label.

4. People you have worked with/for?

5. Why are you so good at training people?

I've done guest lecturing on music production and the music business for various tertiary institutions and organizations such as Red Bull Music Academy (Seattle) Miami Dade College, University of the West Indies, Trebas Institute (Toronto) and for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). I have a very storied background in the music industry, which gives me a wide breadth of experience to talk about...And it seems like people enjoy listening :-)

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I Needed This tutorial has been tremendous teaching me what I need to know about Maschine 2, and saving months of frustration and guess work. Only reason I gave it 4 and a half stars instead of 5 is because the tutorial is all on Maschine Studio, but this so far has not hindered my learning process. I would purchase again.

This one is really explain the Maschine 2.0, very well, but (in mine own opinion), you need to add the new update along, not to say directly but at least once in 6 months period, to keep your premium customers up to date. But this one is outstanding, i love it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from No mute button on screen Excellent videos series. So I thought I could give something back: It's about the video: Maschine 2 Explained/Arrangement View/2m07s: Jeremy mentions it's too bad there is no mute button. However: right-clicking on the group label (A1 etc., so left of the colored stripe divider) in the Arranger solo's a track, while left-clicking enables/disables (mutes) the track. So no need to click any option/control button on the keyboard, it can be done by mouse only. If that is what you meant here?

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by from Groove 3 training rocks - This training does not. Very disappointing. Basically walks through naming all features functions and buttons - but doesn't present features from a conceptual or workflow perspective. Context is all over the place. Foundations are completely glossed over or dismissed. I've really appreciated all of the training on this site - this was by far the least valuable. Don't bother with this one - just read the manual. Groove 3 rocks - this training does not.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Great Tutorial but... I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial and it helped answer so many open questions that I had. The detail and easy to follow instructions make it seem so simple and it is. I know that this tutorial should show the diversity of Maschine but it does make one frustrated when the demonstrations are not all conducted with the supplied software that Maschine comes with (eg. Music and plugins). Other than that, it took my knowledge of the Maschine to another level at an affordable price. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
