  • image description 1:53

It is a common occurrence for the mouth to get too close to the mic. This can create some low frequency energy in the recording. Let's deal with Plosives in this video.

  • image description 6:02

Sibilance has the potential to be very distracting. Scottie show how with this module we can tame it.

  • image description 4:05

A lavalier mic is often used to record talent on location. The clothing rustle sound is dreaded by all. Let's take a look at how RX 6 can help with these issues.

When a recording has background noise our ears get used to the bed. However, if an edit includes cuts to silence re-introducing noise might be the best way to remove distractions.

iZotope RX 6 Explained® is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 41 .
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent! Well worth doing. Thank you Scottie. I have had RX7 Standard for some time and only dabbled with it until recently when I needed to do some audio cleanup. Before I discovered your course, I spent much time blundering my way through the various modules using what I thought might work. Your course has given me so many tips and greater knowledge of the software that I feel much more confident using it, and my workflow and productivity have increased immensely. You explain everything very clearly and and methodically and demonstrate it well with the examples shown. I am not sure why a previous reviewer criticised you for not having any downloadable files to practice on. Far better to find your own and learn using real examples. I practiced by mixing some recorded dialogue with downloaded noises, then used RX7 to improve them. It was a fascinating experience. Thanks again for a great course.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent guide to RX. Easy to follow, pleasant narration, good examples of real world application. Highly recommended.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by from Yet another video with no exercice files included. Removing one star because no files are included. A video in itself has very low value. One needs to exercise and follow instructions as they appear on the video to really learn.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Amazing but... First I'd like to thank Scottie, for this amazing set of tutorials. His pace is just right, he doesn't rush it and explained things in its simplest forms. Things I've read in RX manual but I couldn't understand. And now I'm at 50% through and I'm really happy I found this course. But it could have been better if there was a way to share with us the files and examples he used during the training. Not that there's not enough audio materials in this world that needs repairing, but it's more straight forward and it's not the end of the world. Thank you Scottie well done. And thanks Groove3 this all Access-Pass is just unbelievably fantastic, the amount of content and books is just amazing! Thanks.

Date published: 2018-09-08
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from interesting very informative instruction in bite size chunks. Some of the modules needed further expansion though, for example the de-bleed. I would have liked to have seen how to deal with more complex cases such as a sax bleeding into a vocal rack or something similar.

Date published: 2018-03-11
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from I was lost until Groove3 came along! Some software these days isn't as intuitive as we'd like. RX6 has a lot of "moving parts to it." Groove3 helped me figure out what the heck I was doing. Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Nice! Very helpful, easy on the ears, always a bonus and well explained. If you haven't watched them and prefer the manual I would say "just watch these tutorials" Even if you are quick at learning on the fly, these will help you understand the intricacies and some of the finer details that are not obvious. Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent! Got me started with a sophisticated program. Very successful with first use of RX6 because of it.
Date published: 2018-02-12
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Fantastic in-depth look at RX 6 I'd spent some time with RX 6 (not to mention a couple older versions) before going through these videos, so I was fairly familiar with it, but I still learned quite a bit going through all of these. There were tips and explanations for every little option in each RX module, so I was very glad I went through each video regardless. Overall, this course is a great in-depth look at each part of the RX suite of modules.

Date published: 2017-06-06
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Organized, detailed and authoritive this is a great introduction to this complicated program. iIve review other publishers tutorials and this one is clearly superior- more detailed and easier to apply in my work.
Date published: 2017-05-30
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Clear, comprehensive and easy to follow. Nice job. Considering how "large" RX6 is the author does a good job of describing it overall then delving into the features in each module with a reasonable amount of detail. He's clear, concise and well organized and provides lots of specific examples. One gets the feeling RX6 is a bit like Photoshop in that a person could devote a huge amount of time getting more and more proficient at it and this course is a great launching point for that.
Date published: 2017-05-21
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Incredible Course If you are a new or intermediate RX user, this course does a great job of unlocking all the power of the program. I've been using RX for a while and still learned a ton.

Date published: 2017-05-08
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent Tutorial on a World Class Plug-in I had never heard of this plug-in until I saw this video. I'm absolutely blown away by what it can do. After watching this tutorial, I went back to several of my old tracks that were well done but had clicks and such, and I was able to repair them and use them on my final mixes. This tutorial was clearly explained and was logically presented. I just would have liked more on this product on its use as a plug-in as well as a stand alone.
Date published: 2017-05-07
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Very Helpful NIce!
Date published: 2017-05-02
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Great tutorial for Amazing new voice and dialogue tools The explanations are clear and user friendly. The same clarity of thought continues in the Mike Thornton style. RX 6 advanced is simply a completely higher level of control that takes care of mic rustle, dialogue isolation, breath and de-noise issues. It's a miracle of ease and the tutorial is just as good as the software.
Date published: 2017-05-02
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Excellent tutorial I really appreciate the detail put into explaining each section. The only thing is the pace seems a little fast for someone who has RX open to follow along.
Date published: 2017-04-29
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Everything you need to know. Sometimes explaining the most simple features unlocks the potential to save time and money. I didn't have access to these videos with a previous version of RX and I realize now how much I missed because there is so much to learn and so little time. These videos explain everything efficiently so that now I can utilize RX 6 to its maximum.
Date published: 2017-04-25
Rated 2.5 out of 5 by from Use as a Supplement to Mike Thornton's RX 5 Series I wanted to like this, but it is not as thorough as Mike Thornton's RX 5 series. Thornton knows the product cold and it shows. This RX 6 series is best used, if you find it necessary, to cover updates from RX 5.
