Helpful but the guy is annoying

This is full of really helpful hints and lessons, it has to be said. But the teacher is trying waaaay too hard to be groovy and cool and it really spoils it for me. Also, unless you have the full amplitube 3 set of equipment, you can't really keep up with him because AT ships with a very reduced set of gear. Pretty much every preset has something missing, which is a drawback to really following what he teaches.

Response from Customer Service:

Hi and thank you for your review.
Knowing the author myself, I can assure you that is how he talks 100% of the time so he is certainly being genuine. Glad you found the tutorial to be helpful!
Also, we typically shoot software that may have multiple tiers or versions with the full sets/versions so everyone can see all of their features and functions covered. If you have a scaled down version, not all of it will apply but with the full version/set most will be covered.

Excellent total review of any vst plugin ever

Wow , thinks its scot is the tutors name. It may be an older plugin version but what a different spin on imparting knowledge. it was truly fun learning from this method. Its one of the longest courses but it totally complete tutorial and indepth. Most of all I want rate this the highest ! My only temporarily complain is that it can't be down load for on the go to Ipad. This measure will be adjusted in the near future I believe from groove3.

Save Your Money

All this tutorial does is say ... "Here's the GUI ... turn this knob ... it does whatever" ... anyone that owns AT can do that on their own. This tutorial offers no insight what so ever about how to get the most out of AT, how to configure it's tricky gain staging nor anything else that could help you get good results from AT. In addition the presentation is made in a "good ole boy" style ... as if the guy is your long lost high school drinking buddy who has finally tracked you down after a decade. I found this style really aggravating. Still ... this tutorial might be useful to some ... but I'd advise ya to save your money.

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

The earliest memory I have is when I was 7 years old - I got my first guitar. When I was 9 I got my first keyboard.

2. What training have you had?

Mostly self-trained; however, I was the drum major in high school (playing alto sax & drums/percussion), and majored in music for a short time.

3. When did you get into recording?

When I was around 10 years old I started to basic multi-tracking with my dual tape deck stereo. I would record a keyboard part; move that cassette into the other deck and do a playback while recording a new part into the "record" deck. Voila! Ghost tracks were something I hated back then!!

4. People you have worked with/for?

Let's see ... there was that fast food joint, the grocery store, the bolt company, the theater ...

5. Why are you so good at training people?

OK, how much did my mom pay you to say that I'm "good"? I guess it's because I try to have fun while showing folks what to do. If I get bored while making a video, I'm quite sure that the viewer will not be too stoked to watch it. I want people to feel like they could kick off their shoes, relax, and watch a video where they might learn something.

The notes of any solo are only half the story; the other, equally crucial element is the rhythm. Though there are leagues of books teaching you the scales, modes, and arpeggios that are used when soloing, there's been a great void in the available material with regards to teaching the concept of rhythm. We don't instinctually possess knowledge of which notes to use, so why would we instinctually know which rhythms to use when playing these notes? This is where Rhythmic Lead Guitar comes into play. In this book, you'll learn the timing of notes from the ground up, helping you to develop a solid, internal sense of rhythm that will stick with you throughout your career. You'll be armed with an intimate knowledge of a beat's anatomy, and you'll possess the tools necessary to manipulate the timing of any phrase as you see fit. With a strong command of rhythm, your solos will sound more authoritative, unique and memorable.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by from Helpful but the guy is annoying This is full of really helpful hints and lessons, it has to be said.

Rated 1.5 out of 5 by from Save Your Money All this tutorial does is say ...
