Vienna Ensemble Pro Explained® is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 26 .
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Great Introduction Very easy to understand and pretty thorough. Uses Logic as the DAW and I deducted half a star for not showing any other DAW's other than Studio One. Recommend looking at the Ableton notes in the VSL manual (as I had to) in order to find find the equivalent of Logic Aux's (it's External Instruments in Ableton). Each segment is appropriately timed as to not be light on details or too long and boring.

Rated 2.0 out of 5 by from Too fast and confusing to be really helpful This is the first video at G3 I've sat through and thought 'I have no idea what's going on.' It feels as if this series ought to be aimed at people who already use VEP. Apart from the speed at which he speaks he tends to rattle through features rather than benefits - in other words ... he kind of bombards you with what it can do so quickly that by the time he's telling me what you might use it for I'm already lost. I'm feeling the need to go search elsewhere for info on VEP which is pretty frustrating given my all access pass. Groove 3 ... and Mr K... just ... slow... it ..down.. a... bit . :)

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from A Boon. For a non power user I found this video very informative and very easy, after a few plays, [ Due to the fast talking of Mr Kranzberg ;-( ] to understand. One very important major instruction for beginners, overlooked by Mr Kranzberg was an instruction on WHERE, AND HOW Does VEPro handle 3rd Party Plugins in both Mac & Windows. One uses many 3rd party plugins in music creation these days, as one can see in the " VEPro Explained "tutorial video of Mr Kranzberg. Disappointing and frustrating I found. Apart from this error and his fast talking, an excellent Product, highly recommendable, at a fantastic affordable price. A fantastic surprise after my download, was the availability of ALL the downloaded Video Tutorials online. Thank you for this well thought out customer pamper Groove 3 Team.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Indispensable tutorial of VE Pro 6 An excellent explanation of a potentially complicated piece of software. Eli nails it again! VSL builds some of the best sample library software on the planet but it can also be daunting to learn how to use it fluently. With this series of tutorials, Eli sheds a bright light on using VE Pro 6. An invaluable resource, I've already revisited many of the episodes and will do so again, I am sure. Well done!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Eli was a very good instructor, and his tutorials are very educational. I've wated the Vienna Ensemble Pro ^ Explained, all the way through. Now I'm ready to review them all over again because after watching the first time, I was able to take note of what I need to focus on specifically. I haven't been able to find such great details in this subject matter at all on the internet. thank you! This review and instruction have been invaluable to me in regards to getting up and running with VEPro 6. Also, it has great potential for helping me to become a POWER user with this software.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Vital info from Groove 3 for VE Pro.... Can't praise this enough. Eli Kranzberg is his usual excellent self with detailed explanations and great shortcuts. I couldn't have set up VE Pro without this series as VE Pro can be really very confusing at times and Eli really makes the learning curve less steep. I am now running very smoothly and I'm very happy with VE Pro in my system. Highly recommended for VEPro beginners.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Pretty great -- just some issues if you're in a DAW besides Logic. This one moves fast and is very pro, which I really appreciate and enjoy. Unfortunately there are some things that will leave you scratching your head if you're in another DAW that isn't Logic, which is what he's using here. One example is MIDI routing to multi-timbral instruments in VE Pro from Logic...I just can't figure out how to do it. He shows it in Logic, but Cubase is very different in how it handles multi-timbral MIDI, so I had to ask in a forum to find the answer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Really great! Fantastic explanations, very clear and useful, straight to the practical point. But could explain more about mixing in Vienna or Logic, or should final tracks be bounced to audio. Great value, useful and systematic, thanks for great video lessons! :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Humbling--a great explanation of way too complicated software Thorough explanation (I think--it's hard to tell with software that's so complicated!) and as easy to understand as it can be. The software can be distributed across multiple computers so it becomes very complex when you start exploiting its possibilities. Eli does his usual great job of explaining just about every option with non-trivial examples, including some quirky DAW-specific settings (e.g. channel numbers needing to be offset by 1). I can't imagine anyone figuring out everything that's covered without experimenting for a gazillion hours so the series is a no-brainer if you have or plan to use the software.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Very clear overview Vienna Ensemble Pro can be confusing at first. This overview covers all the essential functions and provides a good perspective for the workflow possibilities. After going through this course, you should figure out what your typical routing is going to be, and make templates for both your master sequencer and your slave VEP instances. You'll want to avoid having to set up the routing every time. VEP can save the slave's configuration to your master sequencer, but you will want to save the template of the local VEP slave as well, just in case something goes wrong.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Eli is the best. I am following Eli's tutorials and each and everyone is very clear, very simple and very helpful.
Date published: 2016-09-26
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent Overview! This tutorial covers most bases when it comes to VEP6. All topics are presented clearly and presentation provides enough background for student to create an excellent template for production. Only thing I would add is techniques for mixing down a project, i.e. - getting all channels to audio in preparation for mixing. Great tutorial overall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Vienna Ensemble Pro 6 Explained I have purchased a number of Vienna Solo Instruments and String Ensemble libraries a number of years ago, but never really got into it. Eli Krantzberg's extensive usage of the latest iteration together with the latest DAWs, masterfully explained in explicit detail will make me to start over with Vienna and put it to use immediately - particularly as I also use Omnisphere. I am now excited to put some time into the new possibilities with the intention of making a lot of use of this sophisticated software.
