Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Definitely Helpful Anytime I can learn more about PreSonus Studio One 4 it is a great feeling! I am just a hobbyist and there is so much to learn about using this DAW. On some of the videos I do feel a bit lost and think I probably need to go back a step to a more basic set of training videos then come back and listen again to the Studio One 4 videos and would probably get even more out of them! And this is a great reason to purchase them and have them downloaded on my pc where I can watch them as many times as needed! Overall I have learned so much in a short amount of time that would have taken me a whole lot more time to figure out on my own or by just using the help guide that comes with Studio One 4.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from A good place to start learning StudioOne I'm finding this set of videos very helpful. I'm new to high-powered DAWs, having only used Audacity so far. The lessons are clear and well-presented. My only small quibbles are that sometimes he will refer to a function without telling us what it is, as in "You can use this to do X" but never describing X. I assume I will find out later. And often he will do a mouse-based move very quickly and I have to rewind and watch closely to see where he clicked (a larger cursor would help). Those are nits, though. I'm glad I bought this series.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent Basic Coverage This course only scratches the surface of Studio One's capabilities, but it scratches it in the right places, providing an appropriate amount of advice and conceptual understanding to go with the how-to coverage.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Really useful! I decided I needed a DAW with more constructive elements and most importantly one which can integrate with a score editor. I rapidly discovered that Studio One is very different to my previous DAW, hence this course. I found the pace of the course to be exactly right, as is the level of detail. Marcus does an excellent job explaining everything and his level of expertise really shines through. Highly recommended. I shall return to it frequently

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Take Two! I'm fairly new to DAWs and I've found these tutorials very helpful. But I found that I have to watch them twice to really get the value. The first time was a good overview and at times I felt they addressed "how" to do something but not as much "what" the function was used for. The second time was when I'd need something that I had learned was possible, but now I need to learn how to do it. I'm using the videos almost like a user manual. The "just in time" access to them has been very helpful!

What it's butters me it's the Smart Click i hate that i love to drag and move and let where i want. but to select and click so much in every envelop of audio it's doing everytime something. I like to Clik hold move " Fl studio user, Adobe Audition, Cubase also " . But the cours it was awsome.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from All you need to know, with detail and clarity This is the course to take to immerse yourself in Studio One 4. The author is clear, succinct, and well-spoken. The flow is logical and progressive. Though Studio One is a very well designed DAW, I do suggest taking notes as you go through the course to give yourself a cheat sheet; there is a lot to forget.

Rated 0.5 out of 5 by from Too many assumptions!! Examples didn't work This guy says, "record" and assumes you know What button to push?? How is the a Getting Started tutorial?? And the Audio Setup makes tons of assumptions. I don't have any of it? Just streaming souces??

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Superb Introduction to Studio One Got mad at my old DAW and decided to switch to Studio One 4.5. It can be confusing switching like this but this wonderful little series got me up and running very quickly. All the basics are here for how to create tracks, add FX and virtual instrument tracks, create FX sends and busses, simple automation, and the like. You'll probably want to learn more than what this series offers, but to get you started in a gentle and efficient way I can imagine no better starting off point. Fantastic job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Marcus does a great job explaining the basic feature of Studio One 4.0 This Video series has helped me to locate where features and functions are located in Studio One Pro 4.0 and how to use them . After using Cakewalk's Sonar DAW for about 15 years this tutorial has been great and is helping me save lots of time instead of looking the information up in a manual. Nice job Marcus!

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Converted from Pro Tools Very good for understanding basic overall operation. Chances are this course will save you a lot of time compared to searching the internet randomly. Everything is explained on Mac OS, and although I am a Windows10 user, all information was valid.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Wow!! These videos are superb!! Honestly, I save more time watching these videos, than when I learn as I go! This world of DAWS, Plug In's, and Mic's is very confusing to a novice, and Groove3 is saving me money by teaching them to me at home! Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent introduction to an excellent DAW Coming from Cubase, I'm amazed at how consolidated to workflow of Studio One is compared to the first mentioned DAW. I'm doing the switch, and this course is a truly great introduction to Studio One. I started my demoing of it yesterday and I've already bought the full version, and having watched this entire course just now, I'm already very familiar with the program. Of course, all DAWs share the same basic structure, but nevertheless, this course has helped me get a good understanding of the nature of this specific DAW. Thanks!

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from OK, but would be better if... Would have been better with actual projects loaded when explaining the functions of a DAW, instead of recording a voice through a mic and explaining things with an empty song loaded in S1.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Pro tools user converted This tutorial was very detailed and right to the point. I got Studio one 4 to pair with Pro Tools 12 due to the easy flow production process but due to this tutorial, I'm actually excited to record vocals and mix in this DAW! This is a very artist/producer friendly DAW and the new wave of the future. This tutorial could not have been better to help me learn it faster! Many THANKS!

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Super Impressed! I've always been dubious of buying online courses as I have been stung in the past with very poor tutors and instruction videos that would probably only make sense to someone who already understands or knows what it is that is being taught. I took a gamble and am glad I did. Really well laid out and well instructed course in manageable bites. The only reason for 4.5 stars and not 5 is two small things. The first being sometimes what was displayed on screen was slightly different due to a setting on my Studio One 4. This was never related to the subject matter being taught, however I did find myself needing to pause the video and quickly google what I was seeing in the video to ensure my Studio 4 was displaying the same. It was easily resolved and only a slight annoyance needing to pause the video to quickly work it out. The second comment I would make is a vocal command confirming what was being clicked at times to bring up certain options and menus would save me having to pause and squint to ensure I was following along correctly. Again really small issues that did not impact my ability to learn and absorb what was being taught. I feel I have a really good foundation and understanding of this New DAW after swapping over from Cubase and I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn Studio One 4.
Date published: 2019-01-12
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Very well presented. As a new user, I was able to go through each of these videos and clearly understand exactly what had to be done. Thanks!
Date published: 2019-01-04
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Helpful and accurate The videos are of appropriate length to introduce the topic and explain it clearly, with hands-on examples. It definitely clarified me these key concepts!
Date published: 2019-01-02
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent communication skills and well selected coverage Obviously there is no way you can cover ever aspect in an introductory course, but I feel like the author made excellent choices in what to cover. His explanations are clear and well constructed. The pace is avout right too. I'd already produced a couple of tunes in S1 since buying it, but I knew I needed to do a course and this one did the trick nicely. This course itself was worth a month's subscription.
Date published: 2019-01-01

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Thorough and Concise I found this series - like all of the Groove 3 stuff I have watched so far - to be thorough and concise. It really does an amazing job covering all of the really important stuff, without getting bogged down in a bunch of features that you may never use. My only minor complaint is that sometimes it moves too fast and takes for granted that you already know something really basic. I find myself from time to time having to rewind and watch it again once or twice to catch up. But it's rare and easy enough to solve.
Date published: 2018-12-25
Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from A good start Simple but good enough for me to start using Studio One 4.
Date published: 2018-12-16

Markus is a great instructor and the pacing of the videos are great. These are the absolute basics which must anyone working with Studio One should have a through knowledge of. Excellent work Groove3. :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent... I just moved from Sonar Platinum and this was a terrific way to learn and compare. Lots of info that would be much more difficult to find from documentation with some great usage hints.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from What a time saver! Moving into Studio One 4 Professional from a stand alone recorder I realized that, although I was able to get tracks down quickly, there were many available options and shortcuts. It would take months/years to discover and incorporate these into an efficient and enjoyable workflow. The GROOVE3 courses have shortened the learning curve to minutes! To get such a great return from an investment is rare indeed. I highly recommend the GROOVE3 courses!

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Pretty helpful but some basics missing for the absolute newby ie Me! I'm finding the vids pretty useful but as a guitarist with little experience with DAWs I'd find it useful to have a section on basics like - how do i select then delete a section - i've always got getting started noise at the begining of the recording - how do I select that section and delete it... should be obvious but not to me... maybe I'm think... Anyway apart from that the vids are good I think and i'd recommend them
Date published: 2018-11-08
Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Lots of good information I've only seen two of these videos so far, but the information is very nicely laid out and explained. I've been working with Studio One 4 for a couple of weeks now, and the 2 videos I've watched have shed much light on the software and it's capabilities. I look forward to working through this course, and then tackling the advanced course

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from This Platform is Outstanding! There's one word to describe my experience here. Outstanding!!
Date published: 2018-10-31
Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Quite impressive The information to start working with a complex program like a DAW, is very well destilled, devided in practical, good to follow blocks and very wel explained. This is one of the best tutorials, containing this much information Ive seen. One downside though, the lack of a download option is a serious problem for people who cant count on a stabel broadband connection, like me. To start with, the constant loading while watching a video is just nasty and for the better part of the time, the picture and sound are out of sync, by, sometimes as much as 20 seconds. You have to put in quite some effort to mentaly keep the pictures lining with the corresponding explination.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Studio One 4 Explained Apart from Marcus Huyskens being superb and all I want to thank him in particular, for pronouncing the abbreviation of Digital Audio Workstation as "Dee Ay Double-You" rather than "DOR". Helps heaps.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent Tutorial! I'll watch anything that Martin Huyskens makes. He has an excellent cadence, provides excellent advice, and has a really high value-to-cruft ratio. Almost everything he says is gold. This was a great tutorial.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Excellent overview for Studio One version 4 I have owned Studio One for several years, and have gone through each upgrade and watched the Groove 3 videos for each one. With the new features added to each upgrade, these videos have been invaluable for a shortcut to learning. This video is very basic and the focus is for new users to Studio One ver. 4, but still valuable for learning the basics. I didn't give it 5 stars only because one major feature , the Chord track, was not mentioned at all. Other than that a very good reference
