Rated 2.0 out of 5 by from Very basic walkthrough, nervous narration A pretty basic walkthrough, aimed at amateur level. Producer of this video should learn to use proper vocal gating on his own narration. Now sounds pretty nervous throughout the whole video.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Exactly what you need to hear This course was perfect for me. Concise, very well explained, no fluff, no "I assume you know nothing" and no "I assume you are already a ProTools Jedi" either. Right down the middle, with very clear steps, and a well put together combo of all the steps in the last part. Nicely done!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Watch it All! You really have to watch all of this series to get the benefit, because Kenny G does something I’ve never seen in any other training video about vocals: he takes a very average singer (whereas other vocal vid series have superb singers), and turns him into a very competent singer and sits him perfectly into a music track. Well done Sir.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Kenny "G" hits it out of the park again... This is something like the 4th or 5th Groove3 video I've purchased by Kenny, and they've all exceeded my (high) expectations. Great advice on comping, setting up a vocal track, manual de-essing, essential vocal effects, and more. Very pleased with this purchase.

Will be reviewing the course to re-inforce my newfound confidence! Thx Kenny Gioia!

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from A lot of good info. and more from probably one of the most knowledgeable engineers to date! KENNY is a genius , no doubt; However, at times when it's pretty complicated,( at least to me), I feel he runs thru it too quickly and a lot of the basic setup, I feel he assumes that all are aware of all the detailed requirements, of each tweaking procedure . Yet overall he is a great teacher and engineer and much more; but again I feel that the more advanced will benefit a lot more and most newbies will be left searching for a prelude to some of his videos.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Good but Pro Tools tips got a bit intrusive This has given me a really solid view of what looks to be a very methodical and flexible way to do vocals. The only real problem I had was the intrusiveness of the Pro Tools tips/methods which are really different from my DAW.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Pretty good Pretty good. Its interesting to see the teacher’s thought processes, and he is definitely very knowledgeable. This course was fairly basic, yet still helpful. This was not amazing though. There’s too much time of the instructor doing monotonous things. The editing/presentation could have been better… show us a few examples of you auto-tuning and then move on… we don’t need to see you doing 20 little autotune edits.
Date published: 2017-01-29
Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Clear and comprehensive Very clear step by step sequence of actions and plugins from recording thru background, harmony, tuning and final mix.
