Super - finally learnt how to use Beat Detective properly.

Explanation and examples were easy to understand and getting to finally learn how to use Collection Mode (and how simple it actually is) was very satisfying indeed. Thanks. But I would have like to know what you did with the snare ghost notes when using said Collection Mode. Did you include them when checking through transient by transient?

Thanks for your review! regarding your question, here's Morgan's reply: I did not correct the ghost notes, and for the most part I recommend not correcting ghost notes if you don’t have to. They are essential in maintaining the groove and character of the drums. You really want to limit yourself to the main hits as a first plan of attack. In short, the ghost notes left alone allow the listener to feel that the groove is still human and groovy, even though the main hits are pretty well quantized. In these examples, the drumming was good enough that it really was not desirable to address the ghost notes. It can really start to sound mechanical if you start straightening out ghost notes. You can raise the sensitivity or manually add beat triggers on the ghost note snares where desired. In any event, collection mode makes it easier to add triggers to ghost notes because they aren’t as easily confused with bleed. Try just the main hits first, then do what sounds and feels good to you!
