In this Groove3 video tutorial series, Eli Krantzberg shows you how to make a killer mix using nothing but the Waves Gold Bundle. See and hear the mix come together and to life, step by step. The individual tracks are also included so you can follow along and mix on your own studio system!
Eli starts by welcoming you and plays the before and after versions of the song “You Don’t Know Me” by Morey and Hayley Richman, then lays out what you can expect from the series.
Next, it’s faders up, to get a sense of what you’re working with track wise, followed by setting up your master bus processing. Eli then methodically goes through all the tracks and song sections utilizing the different plug-ins found in the Waves Gold Bundle, offering both clinical explanations and creative application of them.
Along the way you’ll also learn all kinds of tips and techniques such as creating FX sends and busses, EQing, using compression, creating spatial effects, processing vocals and backgrounds, Guitar tone enhancement with GTR, multi band compression and limiting and much, much more.
See the individual tutorial descriptions below for more info. If you have the Waves Gold Bundle or are wondering if it’s the right suite of plug-ins for you, this series will answer many of your questions, as well as give you insight on how to craft a solid mix for your next song… Get “Mixing with Waves Gold Bundle” today!

You should have some general mixing knowledge. I would imagine that creating this video was a challenge. It was a great opportunity to see what some of these plugins do. I wish more tutorials would have download content. My only small pet peeve is it was in Logic. I seem to have a learning disability translating from Logic to a PC Daw. That song was so great sometimes it was hard to concentrate on the video. My biggest regret is not watching this when it first came out.

I was so captivated by the song that I could not focus on the technical side . Her voice is so beautiful, along with Morey and his excellent gtr. playing, esp. with the searing solo right before the end has me off-track.Thanks ELI for putting it altogether and GROOVE 3. Hope there will me more like this soon.... TOMMY...

Watch this to learn Waves plugins, but also a much broader take on turning a mix into "gold" :)
Many thanks to Eli for tip after tip on bringing a raw mix up to production quality. The ideas and techniques presented are (as advertised) a great tour of Waves plugins in real use, but also a springboard for any DAW and set of plugins. I used one of my recordings in parallel all along with the series, and saw (heard!) vast improvement!
