Rated 2.0 out of 5 by from Just OK he needs to PLAY the examples much more - let us HEAR what the changes actually accomplish rather than just slamming through what the controls do.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Amazing SO in-depth! This is the first tutorial I've found that goes into coding, as well as the detailed information behind Kontakt. MUCH appreciated!

Rated 0.5 out of 5 by from Zero Contact with this Kontakt. Mr Cochrane clearly knows his Kontakt. However the lack of real life examples here and the speed of the tutorials left me having to abort this course which was unfortunate. On the contrary, Mr Krantzberg's offerings was more helpful but it was outdated. The other problem I had with this tutorial was only rhythmic samples were proffered and it simply became tiresome and I found myself looking for alternative videos in the Youtube platform of which were equally disappointing. However there were aspects of this series that I think would serve as a foundation to reviewing the series with a sense of perspective that is more suitable for the future. Mr Cochrane sounds polished and clear however I suspect his inexperience in formulating online teaching aids and helping to shepherd the viewer to a general understanding rather than this technical instruction manual-type delivery was distracting if not unhelpful. It is the instructor's remit to communicate how to manipulate the software and facilitate the sounds you want out of it rather than explaining what each button does out of context. We need instructors to help us on our digital audio journey, not humanoid bot explanations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Very Good. I had no idea you could do so much with Kontakt. Just Brilliant!

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by from Hard to follow. The last 4 videos were the best to get a feel for Kontakts workflow. But you need the other videos to understand how to really work from scratch. The tempo is really too high for this rather komplex instrument. If you update this in the future, please do some pausing while going thru all functions. Please also use some other sounds than drums. And add more examples for different workflows.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from So well explained! Thomas Cochran did an absolutely amazing job at explaining such a complicated plug-in such as Kontakt with so much clarity. He made it look easy and made me feel motivated and excited to go and play with it. Thank you so much, this was so helpful for my sound design course assessment. Looking forward to more videos from Thomas.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Fantastic series! As a non-audio plugin developer who’s recorded hundreds of tutorial videos over the years, I realize how challenging it could have been to plan a course for a package as robust as Kontakt. There are so many useful features which advanced users should be aware of, but presenting just enough of those without overwhelming a new producer requires a lot of course outline decisions. Thomas did a great job. I thought just touching on scripting was handled well as that’s functionality I would really expect to seek out an advanced course for. And I’ll second the review about being excited about the possibilities. While it’s sometimes nice to have a separate lightweight plugin for small, specific tweaks on an individual channel or two, Kontakt could easily save someone willing to invest the time in learning it (as this course covers well) hundreds of dollars in additional bolt-ons. Especially if you grabbed V6 at 50% off recently.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Mind Blown!!! I am so much more excited about using KONTAKT after watching this series! I never knew how much was possible before now. I always thought it was just an instrument. But now that I am aware, I'm looking forward to using only 1 plugin for everything I have been doing with multiple softwares!

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Helpful but scripting tutorial is inadequate Honestly, the explanation of each section was useful in so far as not having to fiddle around with Kontakt and figure each function out for yourself. Saves a lot of time. But for an aspiring developer looking to learn KSP, the tutorial is really lacking. It would have been nice to have a full section on KSP as tutorials and resources on it are scarce.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from One of my favorites A good intro to Kontakt 6, especially if you're interested in making your own instruments from your own samples. After the last video I would have liked to see a discussion of the various save options. Also, I don't remember any discussion about snapshots.
