Product Overview

Adam Pollard aka Multiplier returns with a powerhouse 3-hour tutorial series that teaches you the important fundamentals of EDM songwriting and production. Experience and learn how to create your own pulsing, grooving, and inspiring EDM Tracks!

The series begins with a primer on EDM structure and arranging. After a video on organizational tips on keeping your project color coded, Multiplier spends a few videos exploring both the impact and design of Kick Drums in EDM music. That leads directly into a few videos on writing Synth Parts.

With Kicks, Synths, and Bass covered, Multiplier discusses more production related elements of EDM music, with videos on Builds, Groove Quantization, Processors such as Reverb and Delay, and Sound Effects.

Moving on Multiplier delivers some “big picture” videos on the importance of Stereo and how Stereo Width enhances the listener’s experience of your track, and how different approaches to EDM songwriting create different outcomes.

Decent Primer

The author is obviously very knowledgeable of his topic.Still, for anybody who doesn't use Ableton it could be tough especially for a real beginner. So i'll recommend either a good understanding of Ableton or be an advance beginner.

Decent overview of the capabilities of a DAW for beginners

These videos are a pretty good intro for what a DAW can do. I would think this would be good for beginners of any DAW (and any style of music) but the author does not describe how the techniques can be applied to DAWs other than Ableton. If you're intermediate or advanced there's not too much here for you.

I am a: Semi-Pro, Musician

Response from Customer Service:

Hi John and thank you for the kind words! We agree that these videos are a good intro for EDM songwriting and production in a DAW.
The authors focus is the DAW he is most familiar with so the tutorial is shot in Ableton but the techniques can be applied across all DAW's
As this is geared towards beginners, I will add a request for a more advanced tutorial for intermediates.
Thanks again!

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

I started producing music just over 5 years ago, right about when Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP dropped.

2. What training have you had?

I'm fully self-taught, and haven't had any formal training. I use online resources and learn a lot by talking to other producers about how they do things too.

3. When did you get into recording?

(same answer as number 1)

4. People you have worked with/for?

DJTechTools, iZotope, Output, CAPSUN Pro Audio, Loopmasters, Plugin Boutique, Industrial Strength, 5Pin Media

5. Why are you so good at training people?

I've had a lot of experience in the EDM space, from producing tracks and sample packs that have charted on sites like Beatport, through to DJing internationally and running a record label. And on the training side I've produced thousands of tutorials, and also tutor people one to one.
