Product Overview
Star mixer Koen Heldens has worked on tracks for Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Rhianna, Missy Elliot, and scores more. Koen is in high demand because when he mixes “in the box” it sounds like he’s behind a mega-console with a ton of analog outboard gear. See how Koen does it as he shares some of his juiciest EDM mixing secrets!
Koen approaches mixing in a very organized way, and he starts out on how to process the kick drum in order to get that punchy EDM kick sound.
He then demonstrates how you can craft the perfect snare and clap sounds with punch and presence, and then explores how to process toms, overheads and the drum group, finishing up drum processing duties.
Moving to the rest of the instruments, Koen demonstrates how to process the bass group using both sidechain and parallel processing, followed by how to create wide, cinematic club keyboard sounds, and how to carve out space for effects.
How to use groups and group parallel processing to give vocals a lift is next, and Koen concludes his series with a video on mix bus processing to give everything that final, radio-ready sheen.

Deep Insight on Parallel Processing - rest rather Basic
What I liked: Deep insight how he parallel processes Tracks and Groups to get a deep and uncluttered Low end and how to deal with other instruments to still sit right in the mix having a huge Lowend. What I didn't like: The final Mix has a very good balance but unfortunately still sounds like a bedroom Production in the end. Suggestion: Use another track that has better bass/keyboard/lead sounds if not using any delays, reverbs or modulation effects is the intended and "pure", "analog approach". Or show how to bring the cheap sounds that have been delivered to the next level.
