Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Excellent! I have tried other Cubase tutorials and Dave Askew is a much better presenter/instructor than any other I have experienced, even those provided by or recommended by Steinberg.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by from Great coverage of Cubase basics when coming from other DAWs. The technical content and presentation were well done. My only (repeated) complaint is that when I pause playback to try out some of the examples, if I don't come back and push "Play" soon enough, the playback freezes, and I have to reload the page, and try to remember the timestamp of where I left off. In a learning environment I believe the student should have ample time to explore the concepts without worrying that the training interface is going to "freeze".

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Spot on! I was upgrading to Cubase from using the old version of SX3 and wanted to know the basics of the newer version. The level of detail and attention was perfect for me. I wanted a real 'dummie's guide' and this what the course achieved. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn the basics of Cubase if they are not familiar with the program. Thanks guys for a great course!

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Good introduction This is a good introduction for people new to DAWs in general. It is really beginner-oriented and may leave someone already familiar with another DAW wishing for more. At a bit over 2 hours, this is the perfect length for the content.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by from Good beginning for a beginner This is an excellent beginning to basic features. I would strongly suggest either note taking or pausing and doing what he explains right away or both. Some concepts and features are just mentioned without further explanation, but watching this is not only a good way to learn but to explore what you have to study further. You can do this with the manual.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Very good Going from pro tools to cubase, this was very helpful. You can probably find similar info on YouTube for free, but it would take you ages to get through all the bullcrap and people talking for 30min before they get to the point. And thats why i think this course is worth the money. All the info condenced and in one spot, to get you started in cubase. And a lot of useful tips. And its not a lot of money.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from Great for a newcomer. I'm considering changing DAWs, and I have the full trial version of Cubase. It's like I know what I want to do, but I don't know where anything is! This video series is extremely helpful in getting me up and running. I see how to make the kinds of tracks I want to make, how to add FX, and how to render the final mix. I'm good to go, even though I don't know most of Cubase. All the essentials to make a song are covered here clearly. I can read the 1,344 page PDF manual when I decide to.
