Softube's Console 1 is a unique hardware/software mixer that works in tandem with your DAW, and studio expert Scott Fritz shows you how to get it up and running and supercharge your workflow and sound as well!

Scott begins with a thorough explanation of what Console 1 is and why you want to use it. Then he teaches you how to set it up with your DAW, and guides you through the hardware layout. After that, Scott explores each section of the Console 1, starting with the Input Section, and moving through the Shape Section.

This leads directly into tutorials on how to Equalize and Compress using the built-in Dynamics Processors. The exploration of the hardware finishes with a tutorial on the Output Control section.

Once you're familiar with Console 1, Scott dives even deeper, teaching you about Ordering Components, using External Side Chaining, Grouping, and other Advanced Functionality. He even shows you Console 1's Preset Functionality, and how to Customize Your Settings. Finally, for even more sonic options, Scott discusses the SSL XL 9000 K Channel that's available as an add-on purchase. The cues heard in these videos can be licensed at Warner/Chappell.

Whether you already have a Console 1 and want to get the most out of it or want to know what Console 1 could add to your existing setup, watch "Console 1 Explained" today!

Outdaed video

Why is he using studio one 2 when studio one 3 is clearly the one on the market, and before you say it's the same company, sure but it's not the same daw. Studio one 3 is different from studio one 2

Response from Customer Service:

HI,
I'm happy to answer this question for you. The reason he is using Studio One (version) 2 is that is the version that was new when this tutorial was made. We do not take down older tutorials as they all have value and you can still learn Console 1 inside and out with the previous version of Studio One.
I'll add a request for an updated/advanced tutorial for C1 but anyone using Studio One, regardless of the version, can learn a great deal from this tutorial!
Thank you for your feedback!

Well done video explains the Console 1 logically, easily and completely.

Great organization of the sections and features of Console 1. The instructor's voice was easy to listen to and kept my attention. Only thing I'd like to see is one more section covering the British Class A for Console 1 . Well done

Hi there, thanks so much for your review, we're glad you enjoyed it! Regarding the digitized noise, we have seen this with certain browsers and configurations. Clearing your cache almost always fixes the issue. Let us know if you need any help!

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

I began playing music at the age of 5 and have never looked back.

2. What training have you had?

I studied all forms of guitar when I was young, as well as organ and piano, and then moved on to bass, drums, and music engineering and production as I grew into my 20s. I attended and graduated from the Institute of Audio Research with honors in 2000, and began my music production company, Stranded On A Planet, in 2004.

3. When did you get into recording?

I started recording on a Tascam 4 track in 1994, and then moved onto the Roland VS series recorders back in the day. From there, the evolution to computers and hybrid analog/digital music production came after years of working and looking for a sound and workflow that facilitated world class sound with creative, intuitive use.

4. People you have worked with/for?

I have produced albums for and with dozens of artists, including Nadia Ali, Cavalier King, The Hawthorne Effect, Tritonal, A Friend Called Fire, Voice of Addiction, Martha Berner and The Significant Others, and Michael Angelo Batio to name a few. I compose for Warner/Chappell, Harpo, The GiggleBellies, Beachbody, and several other corporate clients. I was the executive producer and co-host of “The Top Shelf”, a video series for Guitar Center Pro that focused on high end audio equipment usage and interviews with the designers of the equipment. And, of course, I am now working with Groove 3.

5. Why are you so good at training people?

In my years of musical work, which range from touring the globe as the guitarist for Nadia Ali, to writing and recording commercial/television music, to helping audio developers test their products, I have worked extensively on both the production and the artistic side. I have also spent a lot of time working with virtually all audio processing tools and sample libraries for my work, so after putting all of that into practical use for my job, I feel I can offer a real world perspective on how these things add up to a creative end product and a successful career
