Behringer Odyssey Explained® is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 .
Rated 3.0 out of 5 by from Important things not mentioned This is otherwise quite a good tutorial, unfortunately it completely leaves out any discussion of 2 critical areas. It's a Duophonic synth...but it gives you no explaination of how to acheive Duophony , nor any examples of how it works and how to play it in this mode! Secondly he teaches nothing about Tuning the Arp. The machine can and will need to be tuned using the adjustments beneath the rubber caps...but there is complete silence about that !!! He plays the vco 1 slider and also makes no mention of the fact that tuning is affected by the sliders might make a lovely sound moving them...but they will be out of tune with other instruments. As he says this is a video for novices...but he says nothing about such crucial and important facts...or anything about ways to overcome these issues. I find this to be quite mind boggling as ommissions go. I am still trying to figure out these problems..something the video should have done.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by from A great introduction to a fantastic synth. This was a great introduction to the Odyssey and especially to Behringer's wonderful version of it. I had a bit of trouble adopting to the Arp paradigm, as opposed to the Moog paradigm, which is just different enough to make the shift confusing. After watching the video I feel that I can better move my way around the instrument when working towards a particular sound. Also, I now truly appreciate the brilliance of Arp's design! Laurence Holcombe does a wonderful job of pointing out the various sections and how they work together, as well as covering Behringer's additions such as the Klark-Teknik effects section and the arpeggiator/sequencer. The videos are just in-depth enough with enough information to get you going, but short enough not to mire things down. These videos will get you quickly in and out while giving you the tools you need to take full advantage of what this synth has to offer. Many thanks to Groove 3 for making them available and to Larry for a job well done.
