Rockin' Toontrack Superior Drummer 2? Want to know it inside and out? DAW mad scientist Scott Griggs is going to take you on a Superior Drummer 2 journey that covers it all from beginning to end.

Scott starts the S2.0 journey from the beginning showing you the basics, such as installation, registration, interface overviews, using it in the most popular DAWs, building kits, using X-Drums to more advanced topics such as using the Groove Player, mixing and effects, advanced mapping, multiple outputs, bouncing and much more.

If you use Superior Drummer 2, it's to your benefit to really know it inside and out, so you can work fast and get the best results. There are no other tutorial videos that go this in-depth into the amazing Toontrack Superior Drummer 2!

1. When did you start dabbling in music?

The earliest memory I have is when I was 7 years old - I got my first guitar. When I was 9 I got my first keyboard.

2. What training have you had?

Mostly self-trained; however, I was the drum major in high school (playing alto sax & drums/percussion), and majored in music for a short time.

3. When did you get into recording?

When I was around 10 years old I started to basic multi-tracking with my dual tape deck stereo. I would record a keyboard part; move that cassette into the other deck and do a playback while recording a new part into the "record" deck. Voila! Ghost tracks were something I hated back then!!

4. People you have worked with/for?

Let's see ... there was that fast food joint, the grocery store, the bolt company, the theater ...

5. Why are you so good at training people?

OK, how much did my mom pay you to say that I'm "good"? I guess it's because I try to have fun while showing folks what to do. If I get bored while making a video, I'm quite sure that the viewer will not be too stoked to watch it. I want people to feel like they could kick off their shoes, relax, and watch a video where they might learn something.

Superior Drummer 2 Explained is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Done for Non-Drummers Scott does a very good job of explaining the myriad of options available in Superior Drummer 2. I like that he repeats some of the features such as how to change knobs and other settings with a more refined approach. He has a light approach to explain the features, which is a nice contrast to some serious instructors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Tutorial You people have some great reviewers, but Scott Grigg takes the cake. Uptempo southern cowboy is how he comes across and the delivery keeps your attention and makes it fun. I took three days to go through this series to both savor the experience and to let it all soak in. If you have Superior Drummer 2, this is must watch; if you are bored, watch this and it'll perk you up. Some of the installation videos are dated because most people will be downloading and installing instead of using DVDs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In depth and engaging This guy is presents very well. It feels as though we're sitting around having a beer and he's walking me through the SD2 software. It's a very engaging presentation style. Every feature of the software is covered for a fairly in depth overview. The software is so powerful and flexible however that it is limited only to your own creativity. I wanted to know how to make midi nodes that trigger different samples at different velocities. This tutorial does not explain that directly but explains all the tools so well that I can now play around with confidence and create what I was after. If you have SD2 and can't be bothered reading a manual - watch these videos!!!
