Atlas 2 Explained

Join veteran Groove3 instructor Larry Holcombe for a detailed look at Algonaut's Atlas 2, the tool that helps you create beats fast and effortlessly, thanks to its AI-driven organization and easy-to-use interface. You'll learn how to quickly select samples for a custom kit, program drum parts, quickly audition different kits intelligently, tweak and edit the samples, and much more. When you're through with the Atlas 2 course, you'll be familiar enough with Atlas 2 to start using it right away on your very next project. These Atlas 2 videos are designed for new Atlas 2 users.

Videos
Introduction & Interface (04:36) - This video introduces the series and outlines the different areas of the interface. We discuss the use of AI within the plugin to aid you in breathing new life into your sample library.
Map Display (05:43) - We discuss the concept of Maps next, outlining how Atlas 2 uses AI to categorize your samples by type, enabling quick swapping out of sounds on the fly. We also introduce the different map views, which determine the appearance of sample Maps.
Map Sample & Map Create (05:54) - Next up, we create own custom Map, which means we can limit the AI algorithm to use our own sample choices. This allows us to utilize our own sample library and have it categorized by Atlas 2.
Drum Kit (06:02) - This video is concerned with the Drum Kit. Here, we can drag and drop samples from the Map onto drum pads, creating custom kits and also potentially completely changing the kit while keeping all of the drum categories the same. This allows new kits to be auditioned on the fly.
Drum Samples & Advanced Parameters (09:10) - Next up, we demonstrate how we can fine tune each individual drum hit by altering parameters such as pitch, envelope attack/release, filtering, velocity randomization, phase flipping, and reversal.
Sequencer (11:13) - This video covers the sequencer, with which we can build drum beats ourselves or have AI generate the rhythms for us. We can add velocity, swing, and alter the step division.
Sequencer Record & Export Options (06:08) - Discover the ability to record your own sequences directly into the plugin next. We continue on to demonstrate how we can export both MIDI and audio from the plugin into the DAW or the hard drive.
Browser (05:17) - Finally, we demonstrate how content is organized in Atlas 2. We also see how to save your own kits and sequences for use later.
