Videos
Range Selection Tool (04:37) - In this video, we look at the updates to the Range Selection tool, including how you can use modifiers to access other functions. We finish off by looking at some move selection options with the tool.
Adaptive Background Attenuation Tool (07:02) - Learn how this new tool works at creating automation ducking effects on background sounds when a foreground sound is detected. You can use this tool to separate foreground tracks from background tracks and set the attenuation level amounts.
ADR Dialogue Transcription (07:01) - With this new tool, you can use Nuendo's AI machine learning to scan an audio event and transcribe the voice to text in a marker. From there, you can use the ADR window to customize the ADR overlaps on the video player.
Event Volume Curves (05:28) - See various ways of editing your event volume curves. You can either adjust the static volume on the event with a new fader or create volume curves on the event for better gain staging on the audio event before it goes through any processing effects. The waveform also visually adjusts as you edit the Volume curves.
Audio Segment Detection (02:43) - With this tool, you can detect phrases that belong together on your audio event and then edit them. You assign this feature to a modifier key, scroll through your audio to find phrases, and then edit them with the range tool once detected.
Workflow Improvements (07:13) - First, we look at the changes and updates to the Lower Pane and MixConsole to see how you can view the full MixConsole in the Lower Pane. You'll also see how to rearrange sections and reorder tracks in the Mix channels, along with looking at the updates to the Media Previewer, including how to preview audio loops and samples in sync with the project tempo.
Using the Modulators (06:01) - Discover how to use the new Modulators to dynamically control any instruments or effect parameters. We show you how to assign a modulator and then edit and tweak the parameters. Plus, you see how you can assign multiple parameters with one modulator.
Key Editor Updates & Adding Variation (05:26) - In this video, we look at the updates to the Key Editor to see how you can use the new Velocity Variance lane to vary velocities and the Playback Probability lane to add some randomization into note playback. Both lanes add new opportunities for humanization and variation to your MIDI performances.
Shimmer Reverb (11:42) - This video covers the new Shimmer Reverb, explaining what a shimmer reverb is and how it incorporates reverb, pitching shifting, and delays. First, we go over all the parameters and hear what each one does. Then we demonstrate how it sounds on different types of audio and instruments, including felt piano, vocals, and guitar.
Studio Delay (05:01) - Learn about the parameters on the new Studio Delay plugin and how it incorporates different delay patterns that you can use with the effect. Plus, see how you can add in some other modulation effects with the delay like the included Flanger, Phaser, and Reverb, along with some distortion and bit-crushing effects.
AutoFilter (05:04) - In this video, we cover the AutoFilter plugin and see how you can dial in various filtered effects (static filter, auto-wah, etc.) with the parameters. You also see how you can use a modulator on the filter for more interesting results.
Underwater Plugin (04:21) - Here, we go over the simple one-dial Underwater plugin and hear how it creates that filtered Underwater-like effect. You can automate the effect to filter in and filter out, so it can sync with visuals in which the character goes underwater. So, it's a great sound design tool for your music or foley/sound effects.
Volume Plugin (03:43) - Explore the Volume Utility tool and how it can work in your productions. This allows you to have a separate volume layer on top of your track volume fader, so you can create some automation on this volume Plugin, while your track volume fader acts as the master control for the overall volume on your track.
DAWproject (03:11) - Learn how to use this multi-DAW format to open up projects for other supporting DAWs in Nuendo. This enables you to work between users with Pro Tools, Ableton, Studio One, and Bitwig and open projects from those DAWs in Nuendo.
Updated Score Editor with Integrated Dorico Technology (03:52) - Steinberg's Dorico technology has been incorporated into Nuendo's Score editor, so the UI looks much cleaner, and the use of the application is more dynamic and fluid than before. One unique feature you see in this video is how you can create your own different score layouts for different instruments.
Drum Machine (08:13) - Here, we take a look at the new Drum Machine instrument and see how you can populate the pads with drum sounds from the selection of synthesized drums or samples. You'll also see how to edit and tweak processing on each drum pad and use the delay and reverb global sends in Drum Machine.
Using the Pattern Editor (08:00) - You can now either create MIDI Events or Pattern Events. The latter, for example, works very well with Drum Machine. We show how to use the Pattern Editor to create drum patterns for your Drum Machine tracks and add some randomization.
Extra Updates (04:00) - Finally, we look at some final smaller updates, including the new Dolby ATMOS speaker configuration options, the video player resolutions, the visual updates to Supervision, and also the new preview update with the Direct Offline Processing window.
