D16 Silverline Series: Getting Creative

D16's Silverline plug-ins represent some of the best-sounding effects available for a wide range of applications. In this D16 plugin video course, however, production expert Larry Holcombe shows you how to broaden that range even further by getting creative and thinking outside the box to generate some unique sounds. By the end of this D16 production course, you'll have a newfound appreciation for experimentation and a thorough knowledge of these tools and their capabilities. These D16 videos are designed for users with a basic familiarity with the types of plug-ins found in the D16 Silverline collection.

Videos
Distorted Reverb (13:20) - This first video uses Spacerek, Devastor 2, Tekturon, and Toraverb 2 to create a clipped distorted reverb sound.
Filtered Flange (08:17) - We discuss creating a filtered flanged channel strip next - perfect for spicing up a dance floor arrangement. We do this by experimenting with Godfazer?s envelope-following filter alongside Antresol on flanger duties.
Chorus & Tremolo (09:13) - Next up, we add some interest to a keys part using chorus from Syntorus 2 and Godfazer?s tremolo setting alongside Redpoter 2 to add some EQ, limiting, and preamp distortion.
Delay, Bit-crushing, Flange, & Reverb (09:07) - Learn how to mangle a house drum loop to set it into a totally different space. We achieve this using Tekturon, Decimort 2, Antresol, and Spacerek.
Layered Saturation/Distortion (15:22) - Next up, we combine various saturation, distortion, and modulation effects to subtly drive and twist a drum-and-bass bassline.
Slap & Chorus Effect (12:05) - This video demonstrates how a tight, slap delay/chorus effect can set a vocal in a wide, small space to add stereo width. We achieve this using Tekturon, Syntorus 2, and Redopter 2. We also send some signal to a mid/side instance of Toraverb 2 to add side information.
Filtered Drums & Pitch-Shifted Shimmer (16:05) - Next up, we use a filtered limited effect on a drum part and a pitch-shifted shimmering reverb effect to create a dubby echo-style effect.
