Videos
New MixConsole UI Overhaul (04:05) - Starting off this series, we take a look at the big design overhaul with the Cubase MixConsole. Gary shows you the new design and where things have changed in the console view and the channels, as well as the new features with the channel strips.
Using the Channel Tab View (02:40) - A new addition to the zones is the Channel View. This is a very minimal view of a MixConsole channel, which is very helpful if you don't have an extra display and you want to be able to view your MixConsole channels and the Arrange area.
Changing the Channel Mode Type (01:43) - It's very easy now to change the channel configuration mode of a channel mode. There is a new button that you simply click to convert a mono to stereo channel and visa versa. In this video, Gary shows you where this function is and how quick and easy it is to use.
New MIDI Range Tool in the Key Editor (02:55) - The Range Tool is now an extra tool you can use in your editors. This makes it much easier to select note data and either edit, copy, or move it in this range; it's much more efficient than using the previous tools for this task.
Editing Multiple Parts in the Key Editor (02:59) - You can now choose to view multiple parts in the Key Editor and edit these parts together, which is very handy if you're working with a big selection of different MIDI parts. Plus, you can use the Visibility agents to help you jump around to different parts and select them in the key editor.
Black Valve Compressor (08:23) - This is a new analog emulating compression unit, which you can use to not only compress your audio, but also to color your audio as it passes through it. In this video, Gary shows you how to use this compression plugin to control the dynamics and/or color the audio on different types of instruments so you can hear the results.
Analog Emulating EQ-P1A and EQ-M5 (06:06) - Two new Analog-style EQs have been added to Cubase 13: a Pultec-style EQ and a midrange boost EQ. In this video, you see how to use these types of EQs to color different areas of the frequency spectrum in your instruments.
VoxComp (03:06) - Cubase 13 has some new dedicated vocal effects, including the VoxComp, which is a very simple on-knob design effect that allows you to quickly and easily compress your vocals. Gary demonstrates how to use this on some vocals in a production.
Vocal Chain Plug-in Pt. 1 (08:15) - In this video, we examine the Vocal Chain plug-in with its multi-effects. With this one plug-in, you can add all the necessary vocal effects. We first take a look at the Clean section and see how you can use these effects to clean up the vocal. This includes a Cut Filter, Gate, Pitch Correction, De-Esser, Dynamic Filter, Compressor, and EQ.
Vocal Chain Plug-In Pt. 2 (08:39) - In this second part of the Vocal Chain video, we take a look at the other effects that add character to the vocal, such as the Exciters, Saturators, and second stages of EQ and Compression. We end the video showing how to use the Imager, Delay, and Reverb Send Effects.
Steinberg Vocoder Has Returned (04:32) - The classic Vocoder effect has returned to Cubase. In this video, we explore the new updated version and see how to set it up using either the internal or external modes. You'll also learn how to edit the Carrier and Modulator parameters.
New Chord Pads (10:51) - The Chord Pads feature has been redesigned, and the functionality has been made more efficient. Gary walks you through the different sections and shows how you can use this feature to help you build up different chord progressions using the dynamic chord detection mode. You also see how to use this with virtual instrument and chord tracks.
New Shaper & Spectral Modes in the Sampler Track (08:50) - In the Sampler Track, you can now use the Shaper Mode to draw in your own custom envelope shapes for the Pitch, Filter, and Amp envelopes. There are also new Spectral Modes you can use in the Audio Warp section that use better algorithms and have fewer artifacts.
Track Versions in the Video Track (05:35) - You are now able to create track versions with the video track, similarly to the way you can create track versions on other types of tracks. This works really well if there have been some revisions and edits to a video. Then you can create a new Video Track version, add in the new video, and then update your other tracks to sync with the new video.
New Look to MIDI Plug-ins (03:09) - The MIDI plug-ins have also been redesigned to look cleaner and more modern. In this video, Gary shows some examples and demonstrates how to easily change the order of the MIDI plug-ins in the MIDI Insert chain list.
Updated Key Commands Windows (03:36) - The Key Commands window has also been redesigned with a cleaner look so you can navigate your Key Commands more easily. You can also customize your view to see only the ones you'd like to see.

Updates to Step & MIDI Input (04:43) - Discover the updates to the functionality of the Step Input and MIDI Input. New Audio Routing Options (02:51) - You have several new routing options to set the input and output of each track, which allows you to easily route the audio from one track to another. For example, you could route the audio from a virtual instrument to an audio track and record its audio.
Creative Uses with the New Test Generator Plug-in (06:51) - With the new Test Generator, you can generate different audio waveforms and noise. But you can also get creative with it by recording an audio waveform from the Test Generator plugin and then creating your own sampler instruments. Or you could use the noise tests to created filtered noise sweeps for transition effects in your productions.
Updates to Import Track Archives & Tracks from Other Projects (06:18) - There have been updates to the Import Archive and Import Tracks from Other Projects functions as well.
