KORG opsix native Explained

Ready for some FM synthesis? In this KORG opsix native video course, synthesizer expert Tyler Coffin takes you on an in-depth excursion of Korg's opsix native, the new FM-based virtual synth that packs several tricks up its sleeve, just like the hardware version. You'll learn the ins and outs of the instrument, so you'll know exactly which knobs to reach for and what to do with them when you have a sound in mind. Plus, Tyler will show you how to design three classic sounds from scratch. These KORG opsix native videos are designed for new opsix native users.

Videos
Introduction & Overview (01:50) - To start things out, we take a brief look at the broad aspects and nature of KORG's altered FM Synthesizer in software and plugin form, which uses the same synthesizer engine as the hardware version.
Basic Operation & Parts (04:59) - In this video, we get an overview of the Opsix interface and see how we can use it as well as the different parts and sections within it.
Operators & Algorithms Pt. 1 (08:17) - The Opsix Native has six operators for generating sound and/or modulating each other. Here, we go through the operators in the Operator Edit section.
Operators & Algorithms Pt. 2 (09:14) - As primarily an FM synthesizer, the operators will interact based on preset or user algorithms to modulate frequency as well as other aspects with various operator modes. We explore those modes and algorithms in this video.
Sound Parameters (09:11) - In the Sound group of the Edit area, we find subtractive and other components of synthesis such as the filter, envelope, and effects. Here, we go through this section.
Motion & Sequencer Parameters (07:57) - In this video, we will go through parameter groups that can sequence and arpeggiate our sound to add rhythmic movement.
Misc/Random Parameters (07:36) - Learn a few additional parameters for miscellaneous program purposes as well as randomization of some or all parameters across the instrument.
Browser (05:21) - In this video, we take a look at how we can load, save, and browse presets and programs in the Opsix.
Sound Design Example: Bass (06:30) - See how to create a characteristically FM bass sound and explore a few ways to alter it further.
Sound Design Example: Lead (08:24) - Here, we use our knowledge of the Opsix to build a monophonic lead sound and explore a few ways to adjust it creatively.
Sound Design Example: Pad (11:52) - Discover how to make a pad with FM key-like qualities among other aspects to make it feel spacious.
Review & Conclusion (04:30) - To close things out, we get a brief review of all that we've learned in the Opsix plus a few closing remarks and tips so that you are fully prepared to dig in and create your own great sounds in KORG's versatile altered FM instrument.
