Disco Pop: Making a Track from Scratch

Introduction & Song Playthrough (02:10) - In the first video, Thomas introduces the course and plays through the song that we'll be creating in the following videos.
Main Drums (11:26) - We start building out the track by creating a kick, clap, and percussion pattern. This will be used to give the song a strong rhythmic foundation so that the whole track has a nice groove.
Mixing Drums (14:38) - Next, we take a look at how to mix our drums so they sound nice and filled out. This part is essential to in laying down a great foundation for our dance pop song.
Programming Bass Guitar (12:09) - Next, we program a groovy synth bass guitar to provide the main melody for our song. A second synth bass is layered in to help fill out the low end of the track and make it sound more modern.
Piano Chords (12:30) - In this video, Thomas demonstrates how to fill up the main section of the song with some piano chords. This piano will be used in the pre-chorus and chorus to provide more melody.
Funk Guitar (12:16) - Learn how to program funk-inspired guitars via MIDI with Native Instruments plugins. This video also shows some basic processing to help the guitars stand out in the mix.
Arrangement & FX - Pt. 1 (09:41) - To wrap up the course, we arrange the song. This lets us go from a simple loop to a whole song.
Arrangement & FX - Pt. 2 (09:39) - This video finishes out the arrangement and adds effects and samples to help the track feel more complete. Thomas also covers some basic mastering effects to finalize the track.
