Serato Sample 2.0 Explained

Join production guru Larry Holcombe for an in-depth look at Serato Sample 2.0, the new version of Serato's powerful sampling tool that's custom-built for making beats quickly and easily. Along with the new stems feature, which makes for painless isolating of instruments or vocals from your source, you'll learn about all the other components, including the Beatgrid, cues, sample-loading, and more. These Serato Sample videos are for new Serato Sample 2.0 users.

Videos
Introduction & Stems (08:10) - This video introduces the course and outlines the different areas of the interface. We also explain and demonstrate the new stems features, allowing enhanced separation of stems within a sample.
Loading Samples & the Source Player (10:52) - Learn how to load and eject samples next alongside navigating samples and zooming in and out. We also discuss the waveform overview, main display, and transposing and changing the tempo of samples.
Beatgrid (11:02) - Next up, we cover the beatgrid, where we can adjust the analysis Serato Sample has made to calculate BPM. We can also edit tempo, bar, and beat markers especially for older samples with tempo drift.
Autoset Presets (09:14) - This video is concerned with the Autoset options, allowing automatic sample location, chopping by beat increments, randomly creating cues, and playing a cue up and down the keyboard. We also discuss Serato DJ cues and, of course, manually creating cues.
Cue (10:09) - See how to create, delete, and select cues. We also demonstrate mapping a single cue to the keyboard and moving, renaming, and copying cues.
Cue Parameters (09:40) - Discover the various cue parameters, including filtering, time stretching, and pitch shifting. We also demonstrate how to route cues to their own outputs and a way in which you can use the cue favorite feature.
Making a Beat (12:56) - Finally, we demonstrate how to chop up a drum beat and add musical parts and vocal chops, all using Serato Samples functionality.
