SampleOne XT Explained

If you're a Studio One user and have never played around with SampleOne XT, you're missing out big time! In this SampleOne XT video tutorial, veteran Groove3 instructor Eli Krantzberg breaks down this powerful virtual software sampler (included with Studio One!) and shows you the many ways you can twist, mangle, rearrange, and layer sounds to your heart's content! You'll learn how to load your own samples, layer sounds, add effects, change playback modes, and much more with ease! These videos are for new users of SampleOne XT.

Videos
Welcome to SampleOne XT (05:41) - Get a quick tour of the main areas in the SampleOne XT interface.
Trigger Modes (03:23) - Learn how the normal, one shot, toggle, and reverse options work, as well as how to make basic mapping range adjustments.
Looping Basics (03:26) - Explore the basics of sustain, release, and ping-pong looping modes, zooming the display to adjust the loop range brackets, and how the release stage of the amp envelope interacts with the three loop modes.
Recording into SampleOne XT (04:30) - See how to create a playable SampleOne XT instrument by recording directly into the Record window, using either the regular record mode or the gate record mode.
Creating a Layered Instrument (06:01) - Watch as short vocal samples are layered with the sampled bass to create a completely original and unique sounding instrument.
Working in Edit Sample Mode (04:39) - Explore the hidden ability to create unique pitch, filter, and envelope offsets for each of the multiple loaded samples in a SampleOne XT instrument using Edit Sample mode and see how to export instruments with their samples.
Slice, Dice, & Resample (03:39) - Follow along as a drum loop is sliced up, processed, resampled, and then used to record a new part with a completely different feel and sound.
Streeeetch (05:35) - Hear how mapping the root note of a keyboard sample away from its true pitch forces it to be stretched, creating an interesting, thin, retro lo-fi effect.
LFO (08:07) - Hear how the different LFO shapes and parameters influence the modulation of the filter cutoff on a pad built up with one layer playing in reverse and another with a loop set up in ping pong mode.
Filter (07:20) - Learn about the various filter types and the different ways of creating cutoff range response and movement.
Drum Sample Layering (03:23) - In this video, the multi-sample drum instrument created earlier in this series is beefed up with additional layered samples. The mapping window is used for range adjustments, and the Edit Sample mode is used to blend each of the three additional sounds in with the originals.
FX (09:45) - Discover how to use the Send to New SampleOne function in the audio menu, adjust the attack envelope of layered pad sounds to create a blooming effect, and customize the Gater effect to create rhythmic swells in your sample playback.
