Ableton Live Analog Explained

In this Ableton Live Analog video course, DAW guru Larry Holcombe demonstrates how it's possible to achieve the golden analog synth tones of yesteryear in virtual form, thanks to the impressive virtual instrument Analog. You'll also learn much about the basics of synthesis in the process as well, incase you're still a bit unsure of how they work - information that can also be applied to other virtual synths, or hardware synths should you find yourself with one. These videos are for new Ableton Live Analog users.

Videos
Introduction & Interface (04:13) - The first video introduces the plugin and also demonstrates the signal flow and interface.
Oscillators (08:32) - We discuss the oscillators next, which allow us to create a wide range of different timbres. We also thicken the sound using detuning and create chordal effects by pitching oscillators around.
Noise Generator (01:13) - The noise section is used to add noise into the signal, with which we can create drum sounds and also add grit to other parts.
Filter Section & Envelopes (14:33) - This video focuses on the filter section and continues to describe the functionality of the envelopes using the filter envelope as an example.
Amplifier Section (01:57) - We cover the simple and extended parameters of the amp section next, creating auto-pan and tremolo effects in the process.
LFO Section (05:22) - Next up, explore the LFO section's main parameters and also the ways in which we can route the LFO to affect various synth parameters.
Global Parameters (08:32) - We continue on to the global parameters, covering unison, glide, polyphony, and other controls relating to the way we can play Analog.
Making a Track Using Analog (15:36) - Finally, we create a basic loop using sounds solely created using Analog, including percussive parts, synth pads, and bass.
