Videos
Introduction (07:19) - Gary starts off navigating around the instrument, showing you where all the functions and features are. Then he gives a quick demo on what the instrument sounds like.
Changing Presets & Snapshots (03:49) - Here, we go over how to change the preset kits through the Snapshots. We also listen through some of the presets to see what the instrument has to offer with regards to the kits and the tones.
Looking at the Kits & Changing the Samples (06:13) - In this video, we take a look at the Kit page and learn how you can edit and change the samples on each drum pad. This includes changing the samples and also changing the volume, pan, and filters on each pad.
Setting Up Choke Groups (02:53) - Discover how to create Choke groups. These work very well, for example, with hi-hats where you don't want the open hat to play when the closed hat is triggered. By assigning them to the same choke group, you can solve this issue.
Using Patterns (08:58) - Explore the Patterns Page and see how you can trigger different patterns. We also examine the latch mode and retriever mode and see how these modes differ when triggering patterns.
Dragging Patterns into Your DAW (02:21) - For this video, we show you how you can take the patterns in the instruments and drag these patterns straight onto a track in your DAW to convert the patterns to a MIDI clip.
Adding Insert FX (05:33) - Discover how to add Insert FXs to your Drum Pads. We show you the types of effects you can add and the amount of slots that are on each drum pad.
Using Send Effects (03:27) - In this video, you'll learn how to add effects to the two send effect slots and how you can send various drum pads to those effects.
Using Global Effects (03:28) - To summarize the effects section, we go over the Global effects and examine how these differ compared to the Insert and Send Effects. Then we clear out the slots and add our own Global effects.
Using Macros (05:59) - Discover the power of Macros and how you can use them to alter and manipulate the instrument. I take you through an instrument preset and explain how the Macros are used.
Creating Your Own Macros (06:22) - Here we take a look at how to clear the Macros list, create our own Macros and assign them to specific parameters, edit the assignments, and rename our Macros.
Setting Up Reverb Macros (03:35) - This video continues from the previous one and shows how you can create your own Macros and assignments linked to the reverb send. This makes it easy to have different amounts of reverb across the different drum pads.
Assigning Insert FX to Macros (03:45) - We finish the Macros section by learning how you can create Macros assigned to Insert FX. You can then change the Min and Max assignments for these mapped Insert effects.
Building Your Own Kit (04:57) - Discover how to use the User Kit Preset to build up our own kit. This is a blank preset to which you can add your own drum samples to the drum pads.
Creating Multi Outs (05:52) - In this video, we take a look at how you can route your drum pads to different outputs so you have more control over the kit in your DAW, including adding post processing to the different drum pads.
Saving Snapshot (02:56) - Learn how to use Snapshots to save changes to the presets or even save new kits that you've created.
Programming a Beat (07:36) - Now we take everything we've learned about the instrument and apply it in a real production situation. I show you how I program a beat over some guitars and bass. Then I add some automation to the Macros to create some interest with the beat in the production.
Printing out the Stems (03:07) - We finish off the video series by showing you how to print the different drum pads to audio tracks for use in your DAW.
