Logic Pro Sampler Explained

Studio wiz Larry Holcombe presents comprehensive Logic Pro Sampler video tutorials! If you're ready to start implementing Logic Pro Sampler's powerful sound-design capabilities and invigorate your beats and tracks, this is the course for you. Larry takes you through all the major features of the instrument and demonstrates concepts with musical examples, so you can hear the ideas in action. These videos are for new Logic Pro Sampler users.

Videos
Introduction & Interface (03:24) - In this first video, we introduce Sampler, cover the interface, and look at the synth, modulators, mod matrix, mapping, and zone panes. We also load in a preset from the preset library.
Loading & Saving Sampler Instruments (03:14) - Discover the different ways in which we can load and save presets.
Zones, Groups, & Importing Samples (12:47) - Discover the different methods for importing audio samples into groups and zones next. We also focus on the original and optimized algorithms for importing audio by dragging and dropping on the navigation menu at the top of the window.
Convert Regions to New Sampler Track (05:03) - Next up, we demonstrate creating sampler instruments from audio files using regions and then transient markers. This gives us a very quick way of getting our sounds into Sampler for further manipulation.
Zone Pane (10:07) - Explore the Zone Pane, where we cover setting start and edit points, looping, zoom options, fades, and flex time.
Groups & Mapping Pane (07:49) - We create groups next by dragging and dropping some drum sounds into the Groups view. Then learn how to route groups to separate outputs and also use the Mapping, Groups, and Zone view of the Mapping page.
The Synth Pane (14:29) - This video moves onto the Synth Pane, covering the pitch, filter, and amp sections. We then discuss the Details tab, which includes parameters like velocity, pitch bend, unison, and randomization controls.
Modulators (10:15) - Next up, discover the parameters of the envelopes and LFOs, which can be used to create modulations in Sampler's parameters for effects like vibrato, tremolo, and wah wah.
Mod Matrix (07:48) - Learn the workflow of the Mod Matrix next, including a novel example using a drum loop routed through the side chain input to modulate the filter cutoff of a piano sound.
Autosampler (10:25) - This video demonstrates the process for creating a custom sampler instrument from a track stack of software instruments and effects using Autosampler. This can be done automatically for you once you set the parameters you require.
Advanced Group Settings (11:20) - Explore choke groups, round robins, and changing articulations using keystrokes next. This is achieved by altering parameters in the Group view.
Sampler vs Quick Sampler (11:00) - Here, we outline the differences and respective workflows of Sampler and Quick Sampler so you have the most elegant approach to manipulating samples with Logic at your fingertips!
