ANA 2 Explained

Synth wiz Tyler Coffin presents a series of in-depth ANA 2 video tutorials! Learn all about the powerful features and functions that make this virtual synth a powerhouse, as well as how to design patches from scratch. This series is designed for new and intermediate ANA 2 synth users.

Videos
Introduction & Settings (02:18) - To start things out, I give you a bit of background and information regarding this awesome software synthesizer, ANA 2. Then we cover a few settings to get things ready to roll.
Overview & Interface (03:58) - In this video, we take a broad view over the main areas of ANA 2 so that you get familiar with the general layout, and get a firm grip on the interface so that you can operate smoothly within the synth.
Oscillators 1 to 3: Wavetable (10:07) - Oscillators 1, 2, and 3 are each capable of very flexible operation from working like an analog synthesizer to a more modern wavetable synth, and in this video, I show you how to use them.
Oscillators 4 to 6: Sampler (07:29) - Oscillators 4, 5, and 6 offer a different form of sound generation, this time as a sampler, which opens up a lot of possibilities on its own or combined elsewhere. See how it all works!
The Filters (06:38) - Filters are a huge part of synthesis, and ANA 2 has some excellent ones. Here, we get a look through all of the parameters involved and how to use them.
The Envelopes (11:51) - Now take a look at ANA 2's envelopes, from simple ADSR to the added graphical envelopes in the G-Env Section.
The LFOs (04:32) - In this video, we look at ANA 2's LFOs, which can add movement and wobbling to all kinds of parameters of our sounds through modulation.
The Mod Matrix & Macros (06:28) - In this video, we go through the Modulation Matrix, where we can link our parameters to all of the different available controls throughout ANA 2. This can provide a huge set of possible ways to dynamically manipulate a sound.
The Arp (10:24) - Here I explain and explore ANA 2's Arp, which can add rhythmic arpeggiation to your sound automatically, for a programmed sequence built from the notes pressed.
The CMD: Chord Memory Device (08:50) - The Chord Memory Device gives you a very simple way to program and use full chords at the press of a key to quickly generate ideas or perform easily. Together we'll go through its potential and operation.
The Effects & EQ Pt. 1 (11:30) - Learn all about ANA 2's EQ and the excellent set of effects available to add the final touches to a sound, or shape it even further.
The Effects & EQ Pt. 2 (08:22) - Here we continue going through the effects available in ANA 2's effects section.
Preset Management & Browsing (05:24) - There are a great deal of presets in ANA 2, plus we'll be making our own. Keeping it all organized and easily accessible is hugely helpful, and the browser is very capable of doing so. See how!
Sound Design Example: Bass (08:47) - Here, we'll use what you've learned in ANA 2 to create a bass sound. Then we'll take it a little further to flex some of our bassy synth chops.
Sound Design Example: Lead (11:09) - Like we did with the bass, we now explore and create a lead sound and play with it in a few different cool ways.
Sound Design Example: Pad (11:16) - Pads can be a great place to really do some cool synth programming, and with ANA 2, we have no shortage of options and parameters to play with. See how to make a massive pad sound and let it evolve and modulate.
Conclusion & Review (06:35) - Now we wrap things up by having a quick review of some important aspects of ANA 2, as well as go through a few closing remarks before we cut loose to do some awesome sound design with this awesome synthesizer!
