Behringer Model D Explained

Synth pro Larry Holcombe presents an in-depth collection of Behringer Model D video tutorials! Follow along with Larry and learn all about this amazing recreation of the legendary Moog Model D analog synthesizer, including how to make patches from scratch. This series is perfect for new Model D users as well as intermediate users who want to learn more about what this synth can do.

Videos
Introduction (03:54) - In this first video, Larry introduces the series and discusses the type of synthesizer the Model D is, and features and functions specific to it.
Setting Up the Model D in Logic Pro X (04:15) - See how to set up the Model D in Logic Pro X using an External Instrument plug-in. You'll then explore using the Model D in Logic's Channel Strip and dealing with bouncing sounds into our Logic Pro X project.
Setting Up the Model D in Ableton Live (01:02) - In this video, learn the process to use and set up the Model D as an External Instrument in Ableton Live.
The Oscillator Bank (09:02) - Learn all about the Range Control and Fine Tune, which allows you to tune the Oscillators to create chords and thick fat basses and leads. Larry also covers the Oscillator 3 Button allowing you to unlink Oscillator 3 from the Keyboard Pitch. Larry then discusses and explains how to utilize the 3 patch connectors at the top of their Oscillator bank.
The Mixer Section (02:53) - See how to use the parameters of the Mixer Section including the Volume Buttons, Levels and the White and Pink Noise Buttons.
The Filter Section Pt. 1 (06:03) - Learn all about the Cutoff Frequency Dial and Emphasis, including the Filter
The Filter Section Pt. 2 (02:02) - In this second part of your look at the filter, Larry covers the ways you can set up Keyboard Tracking on the Model D's Filter and why.
The Loudness Contour (04:15) - Now take a look at the Loudness Contour or Amp Envelope. This feature allows you to set the Volume Contour to create a wider palette of sounds. You'll then learn how to setup the Decay as a Release parameter for both the Amp and Filter Envelopes.
Modulation Pt. 1 (05:49) - In this video, Larry explains and explores using LFO, Noise, OSC 3 and Filter Envelope to modulate the pitch of your Oscillators. This is great for creating weird and wonderful pitch modulated effects. See how!
Modulation Pt. 2 (05:23) - Learn more about the Filter Modulation section, again using the LFO, Noise, Oscillator 3 and the Filter Envelope, but this time modulating the Filter to create Filter wobble effects.
Remaining Parameters (01:18) - Now complete your look at the Main Parameters of the Model D by exploring Global Tune, Concert Pitch Button, Output Volume controls and how they all work.
Advanced Patching (09:36) - In this video, Larry covers the advanced semi-modular nature of the Model D which allows you to route certain sound modules into others. An example would be using the Filter Envelope to effect the Frequency of the LFO, or routing the output mix of the Mixer section to modulate the Filter. This allows for a more complex palette of sounds to be created and expands the functionality of the Model D greatly.
Model D Bass Patch (10:53) - See how to create a
Moog Style Lead Sound (04:35) - In this final video, Larry shows you step by step how to design a Whistle Style Funk Lead patch by pitching up 2 Oscillators and applying Emphasis to the Filter. We again call upon the Eventide H9 and Rose Pedal to add some special sauce to the sound!
