Live 9.5 Update Explained

Ableton Live keeps getting better and better, and the newly released Live 9.5 update is chock full of improvements. In this six video tutorial series Ableton trainer Scottie Dugan demonstrates the new features and how to use them creatively.

General Updates (05:40) - Let’s start off with some general updates. There are some great updates that really enhance Live’s workflow.
New Filters (10:15) - With Live 9.5 come 4 brand new Filter Circuit Types. Now we can drive the filter just like we would be able to with analog hardware. There are plenty of different colors and sounds these bring including self resonance.
Bass (08:16) - Next let’s move onto the brand new Max for Live instruments. Scottie explores the ins & outs of this awesome bass instrument.
Poli (07:03) - In this video, Scottie explores another new Max for Live instrument, Poli, will be quite familiar after working with Bass. A lot of the parameters are the same but it also includes some great tools when working with more than one note at a time.
Multi (07:05) - Scottie dives into this interesting six engine synth. Lots of different sounds and syntheses type are packed into this one.
Simpler (14:15) - Here’s the big update... Simpler has been redone with three different modes. Warping can be done right within the device making samples in time. You can choose between the Classic, One Shot and Slice modes. Each brings it's own flavor and workflow.
Live 9.5 In Action Pt. 1 (09:49) - In this video Scottie starts building a simple song using the new features, instruments and workflow.
Live 9.5 In Action Pt. 2 (11:30) - Finally, let's round out the song and finish it. The brand new Max for Live instruments are really fun and easy to use. Scottie also adds some devices to the master track and glue up all the pieces.
