Basic Licks & Classic Solos for Electric Blues Guitar

Here's a Homespun video series for players who know the basic chords and want to get started playing blues on the electric guitar. Guitar pro Jim Weider takes it from the top, and shows the easy way to get into playing authentic licks, riffs, rhythms and hot solos.

Chapter 1 (03:34) - Jim starts off with a performance with the band. Then he dives into tuning to help you sound the best for practicing along with this series.
Chapter 2 (17:57) - Jim talks about the tune the band played in the last video that contained a famous 5 note pentatonic blues scale. Jim continues through the song with the rhythm and other parts.
Chapter 3 (14:55) - Jim and the band play "Going Down" and "Elmo's Blues". He then goes through "Elmo's Blues" and shows you the different parts so you can play along.
Chapter 4 (11:16) - Jim shows you some classic licks helping you understand the groove and foundation of each lick so you'll be comfortable and confident in your playing of them.
Chapter 5 (13:11) - Jim introduces us to "Hideaway" by Freddy King. He then takes a close look at essential parts helping you get each lick down.
Chapter 6 (14:10) - In this video, Jim and the band perform "Hideaway" and teaches you the different techniques he uses like vibrato, bending and controlling the tone with your fingers.
Chapter 7 (05:03) - Jim plays the licks from "Sugar Cane Blues" showing you the different parts and how they contrast. Jim and the Band then performs "Sugar Cane Blues" showing you the final product.
Chapter 8 (06:03) - In this video, Jim focuses on tone control and techniques. He explains the volume control knob, different picking positions, and how to attack the guitar to get those different tones and expressions. Jim introduces the band, and gives a few last words before one last performance.
