WaveLab 8.5 Update Explained

Steinberg master Mark Struthers returns with a series dedicated to the new WaveLab 8.5 Update, explaining all the Encoding and Processing features and enhancements, that were added to this powerhouse editing suite.

• Introduction (06:24) - Mark begins by introducing the new features available and resolving installation issues present in the first release by ensuring preferences from version 8 are carried over to version 8.5.

• AAC Encoder & iTunes Integration (10:58) - Mark looks at AAC Encoder so we can encode straight to AAC formats, such as HE-AAC, HE-AAC v2, HD-AAC and 3GPP, for compatibility to Apple products, such as iTunes, iPod and iPhone.

• Encoder Checker (08:35) - Moving forward, Mark explores the Encoder Checker feature that offers a way of comparing common encoder formats and their settings by generating a multi-stream playback preview of up to three streams.

• Multi Format Rendering (04:56) - Using the Multi-format Rendering feature, Mark looks at this timesaving feature to export an audio file to a number of different file formats simultaneously using multicore technology where present.

• Watch Folders (07:40) - Mark finishes by utilizing Watch Folders to automate file conversion and batch processing. After designating a Watch Folder, Mark steps through the process to automatically run an effect once an audio file is placed in the folder.
