Next we dive in and talk about the key to mixing quickly and all of it's advantages. We begin to organize the session by re-naming and coloring tracks, cleaning up our audio and adding markers to the session.
Next, Kenny begins to get a rough mix while applying master buss fx and EQ to continually speed up the mixing process.

Kenny works on the drum tracks both globally and gets some close to final sounds for the Overhead Mics.

As we move on with the drum mics, we begin to work on the Room Mic and what it adds to the kit while dealing with the phase issues that it may add.
In this video, Kenny moves on to the close mic'ed drums. Focusing on the Kick Drum and adding some neat tricks to give it more low end and add sustain.

To finalize our drum sound, we buss all the drums to a few different aux tracks and treat each of them differently using Buss or NY style Compression. This technique provides maximum flexibility in retaining the drum transients along with crushing compression possibilities.

Next we move on to the Bass. Working with EQ, Compression and multying it to many tracks to create a unique sound while adding clarity.
Kenny moves on to the guitar tracks focusing on the intro guitar and adding amp and cabinet simulators to re-create and sculpt the sound of a real amp.
Next we move on to the main lead melody guitar which plays off the Sax as we find a unique place for each of them while also creating a sound.
Kenny tackles the Saxophone which plays in a few different sections. Not only do we treat each on with different processing but we also see the easiest way of accomplishing it.
During the Sax solo sections, an interesting guitar chord section appears with a slight chorus effect. We re-pan this part along with adding EQ and Compression.
Next we tackle the main guitar solo. Also adding guitar amp simulators but doing a bit differently this time while employing the direct sound along with EQ as well.
Fender Rhodes (Roland Space Echo)11:57
Throughout the whole song, we have a staccato Fender Rhodes tracks that stabs out the chords. We find a unique effect for this while also creating some psychedelic tape echo effects for the ending of the song.

Once all the tracks are working nicely together, we re-think our approach, make adjustments based on it and begin to automate all the tracks so they fit nicely in the mix and create interesting moments for the transitions.

Finally, after all the tracks are working together, Kenny automates them so they gel together in the mix and create interesting transitions when moving from section to section.
