Ed Shaughnessy, hailed as one of the greatest big band drummers, began his legendary career in the jazz combos and big bands of Charlie Ventura, Benny Goodman and Count Basie, among many others, before joining the Tonight Show band in 1963. Clem DeRosa has enjoyed a 50-year career as a professional musician, educator, arranger, composer and orchestra leader. He has performed and/or recorded with Charlie Mingus, Marian McPartland, Teo Macero, Thad Jones, Ben Webster, John LaPorta, Bobby Hackett, among others, and has led the Glenn Miller, Dorsey Brothers, Tribute to Benny Goodman, Copacabana and American Jazz Repertory orchestras.
