    1. When did you start dabbling in music?

I started working with sound doing the theatre productions at school when I was around 14, putting together sound effects tapes for plays and also doing the lighting, completely self taught.

    2. What training have you had?

I served an apprenticeship at Marconi's in Essex, England, home of the inventor of radio. I have an ONC & HNC in Electronics and then became their audio test and development engineer.

    3. When did you get into recording?

When I was at school but I got a lot more serious when I was in Essex becoming chief Engineer of Hospital Radio Chelmsford, as well as providing sound services for the 'Am Dram' scene in Chelmsford.

    4. People you have worked with/for?

Acoustic tracks for The Alarm, albums for Fairground Attraction, whilst I was at Piccadilly Radio in Manchester. Since then I have made so much programming for BBC Radio as well as OBs for ITV in the UK. I was the first person to do a live Dolby Surround transmission in the UK.

    5. Why are you so good at training people?

I have been training folk on Pro Tools since it was v2.5. 4 tracks on a good day with a following wind. People say I am patient and can explain techy stuff simply. I am also a media apprenticeship mentor and assessor for a variety of schemes here in Manchester, England where I am based.
